Bio

I am a nurse practitioner with extensive experience in clinical application of Motivational Interviewing, and MI training for professionals employed in healthcare, counseling, social work, OT, PT,  and educational settings. I began learning MI in 2004 after attending MI-based tobacco cessation training. As I began using MI I saw  glazed looks replaced by smiles and active engagement in conversations. I have been a BASICS trainer since 2006 and served from 2005-2018 as the Coordinator of Alcohol and Drug Education Programs at West Chester University where I spent 20+ hours per week in MI conversations  with students about alcohol/drug use and general lifestyle choices.
